And So It Begins

August 24 - The first day and my roomie is already pooped! I love her though!

New Books!!

August 23 - New books for a new semester. I've never been more excited for school. Compare these books to the ones I had in the Spring semester, and you'll see why! I get to spend my whole year studying the Sciptures! Sweet beans!

A Work in Progress

August 22 - Room decoration... continued and unfinished. This is a tree, or, it will be a tree when it's done.

A Journey Begins

August 20 - These stairs kind of remind me of a journey, at the bottom you can't quite see what's at the top, and when you set out on a journey, you're never quite sure where you'll end up, but it's sure to be beautiful along the way. College life... here I come.

Paper Cranes Invade Walker B8

August 19 - Room decoration continues with a very lot of paper cranes strung from the ceiling. This one's name is Humphrey. He lives in the corner above my desk.

Beatrice the Betta

August 17 - So I missed a few days here while I was staying at a friends house here in SC, but I wanted to introduce Beatrice, my adopted betta fish. She came all the way from New York with me!

On the road

August 14 - In which I arrive in South Carolina! And in which I find these glasses in a Cracker Barrel store and force my mother to let me take a picture of us wearing them.

August 13

Goodbye Joseph. Today was the last day and possibly one of the more depressing days of my life. I had to say goodbye to my "fake" family comprised of the summer youth theater staff as well as all my Family Life friends and I had to say goodbye to my sister and little brother. *sigh*

August 12

So I missed a day or two in here... but had I taken pictures they probably would have looked very similar to this... small children on a stage dancing. That's pretty much been my life this week. But it's good, really good.

August 9

Day 1 of the last week of youth theater workshops for the summer. Darren found a friend rather similar to the one I almost picked up the night before...

August 8

Spiedie Fest again... the last time I got to see this season's Konnected play.

August 7

Speidie Fest Day 2! We wandered around, found the free photo booth and caught crayfish in the creek.

August 6th

Spiedie Fest!!! We got our spiedie sandwiches, and they were pathetically small. We were a little bummed...

August 5

Flip Flop tan lines!!!! Summer, Oh how I love thee!

August 4

Kingdom Bound... again! I survived the roller coasters!

August 3

Kingdom Bound... Day 2!!

August 2

Kingdom Bound with my buddies!!

Howard Community Days

July 31 - This is Maria at Howard Community Days; where they throw cheese out of firetrucks during the parade as well as candy. And where the entire parade consisted of driving the volunteer fire department equipment down the main road along with an extraneous tractor and a couple four wheelers. Ah, there's no place like Howard.

July 30

Last day!

Animal crackers in my soup...

July 25

The youth theater workshop team reunited for a second week! And it was Mike and Liz's first wedding anniversary! So we celebrated with sparkling grape juice. And I stole this photo off of Liz's facebook.

July 24

The infamous hill. Cabin at the top. Bathrooms at the bottom. Problem.

July 23

All the flipflops lined up in a row.

July 22

Mess day at camp... where everyone gets plastered with food and the counselors pluck spaghetti out of the grass for an hour afterwards.

Back to Work

July 10 - Back to work at the inn. But with work comes the great joy of going to Tops with Chelsea. Chelsea, wonderful friend that she is, bought me food and we sat in Charlotte the minivan in the Tops parking lot and ate it. Cheesecake, danishes and caesar salad. At 11:30 PM. Life is good in the neighborhood.

Youth Theater Workshop. Day 5.

July 9 - In which everything comes together just in time for us to say goodbye. Show casted, rehearsed, and performed? Check. Kids impacted with the love of Christ? Check.

Youth Theater Workshop. Day 4.

July 8 - In which we revisit the restaurant of many milkshake flavors, attempt to look like models and climb across trees that raccoons use as bridges (conquering two fears in one go)

Youth Theater Workshop. Day 3.

June 7 - In which things begin to make sense, the heat becomes even more unbearable, and we all watch Toy Story 3

Youth Theater Workshop. Day 2.

July 6 - In which Neil and Brielle are excited for the second day of the workshop, we all go hiking, and I get a leech on my big toe.

Youth Theater Workshop. Day 1.

July 5 - In which everyone begins to stress out, we get locked out of our building, and twenty kids show up to work on their theater skills. Oh, and Liz stands in a parking lot with remarkably red shoes.

July 4

Fireworks with friends, analyzing the personalities of the gay people in front of us, bumper cars, and a beautiful clear evening. What a day.

After work

July 3 - This is Chelsea and I standing outside the PVI waiting for the traffic from the fireworks to subside so we could leave.

Favorite

July 2 - One of the last tiger lillies in the flower bed outside the house. Oh, what sadness, for these are my favorites.

Boredom

July 1 - I arrived back in New York, welcomed by the 60 degree weather. In celebration of such coldness I decided to paint one of my yard sale acquired hockey sticks. I was rather bored in the extreme.

'Ello Froggy

June 30 - And today we started the drive home to New York. On the way we stopped at a Shoney's restaurant and there was a little frog out front spitting at me. So I took it's picture.

A CIU Rainbow

June 29 - A beautiful double rainbow that delighted me after a rain shower on the campus. A beautiful rainbow on a beautiful campus. I couldn't ask for more. Other than to have had a better camera on hand.

Yet Another Forgotten Day

I have no good excuse... I just plain forgot amidst the busyness of the day, it being the first day of orientation and all...

A Picture Perfect Moment

June 27 - On the long drive to South Carolina for my college orientation, I noticed that my mum was wearing pink and was drinking put of a pink can and my dad was wearing blue and drinking out of a blue can. Unfortunately, by the time I got my good camera out they had moved...

June 26

Yet another photographic oversight. I'm forgetting more and more often.

A Self Portrait

June 25 - Acrylic on rock... my self portrait
