Good day, good friends to spend it with, good movie to watch with said friends. This is probably one of the best "Christian" movies I've ever seen. Definitely, definitely worth watching!!

Anne of Green Gables

Today I had the marvelous privilege of helping with the youth theater auditions of Anne of Green Gables: the Musical! I also came to the realization that I have a lot of very random books on my shelf. Who would have thought that Anne would find herself sandwiched between Paradise Lost and 1984?

My mum, doing exactly what ought to be done on such a bitterly cold night (the high is a whopping five degrees): sitting in front of the woodstove, with a cat and something to read.

In remembrance

In the mail today came this little fellow, one of the many that my grandmother had collected over the years. She passed away last year and my grandpa sent each of the girls in my family one of her owls.

One Step Closer

One tiny step in the "going-to-college" process has been completed. We officially booked our flights to Florida so we can visit. March 16, your only a month-and-a-half-away (think Annie, the broadway show, so that last part must be sung as one word)

Calm

This weekend has been so crazy: snowboarding, volleyball, meeting new friends, hanging out with old ones, laughing, and just having a jolly good time, but this evening found me exhausted, sore and bruised (vicious volleyball...) so I acquired a great big mug of chamomile tea and it was most lovely indeed!

So I didn't bring my camera snowboarding with me because it happens to be big and clunky, I also didn't want to break it. Not to mention I forgot it... erm... anyway, so I snagged a pic after I got home and this is it. Although, now that I look at it, it looks like I am unsuccessfully trying to model ski goggles. Fail. Oh well. But snowboarding most definitely was not a failure. How could it ever be?

You are a very nice old man and I dearly wish that you believed what I know to be true. Instead, you try to tell me that I evolved from monkeys and that everything I do is a result of childhood experiences or repressed memories. I was warned of people like you, who use such fine sounding arguments. Yet, fine sounding does not equal truth and I am rather more interested in truth. So dear professor, I will listen to your lectures, take your tests, and even give a 10 minute long presentation, but I can not believe what you are telling me.

New Semester

New semester, new books, new crazy professors. I think it's required to have at least one abnormal prof. per semester. Last time it was in art appreciation, this time it's in literature. She spent the first five minutes of class on monday pretending to be the guy from Rainman...

One poor snowman fights to survive in the current January heatwave. A whole forty degrees, people! That is worthy of a celebration! Or maybe we should all just run outside in swimsuits, realize that forty degrees is still cold, then run back inside and drink hot chocolate...
