The Poor Dog

Monday May 31 - I finally got the picture of our poor dog. He got a haircut on Sunday and shall we just say that it wasn't the best haircut I've seen... poor thing looks like a reverse poodle...

Tired...

Sunday May 30 - The weekend hath worn me down. I almost fell asleep in church. Shame on me. So I slept all afternoon till I went to work. When I came home I tried to get a picture of my dog's pathetic haircut, but he ran and hid, so instead I took a picture of some flowers my sister picked.

In Which Chelsea and I Go to Tops

May 29 - On this day I went garage saleing. I didn't really find anything I really needed. I did acquire four hockey sticks, a methodist hymnal, and a flower off some lady's tree. I didn't buy that though, she just said I could have it. Then I drove an hour home and went to work. Afterwards Chelsea and I stopped at Tops where initially we were trying to get dog food, advil and something for Chelsea's church dinner. We ended up spending an hour wandering around Tops at around 11 PM.

The Second Of Two

Friday May 28 - This was an exceedingly wonderful day, I just forgot to take a picture to record it. I went to a friend's house in Olean and went to a drive in movie. I hadn't been to one of those since I saw Finding Nemo when I was like 10. I actually have no idea how old I was. Ten just seemed like a good number. We watched "The Prince of Persia" and "Ironman 2". I was quite uncomfortable for most of the time and it wasn't until most of the way through the second movie that I realized I was sitting atop a child's toy keyboard, a bunch of cds and an umbrella.

In Which I Find A Clown Shoe On George's Bookshelf

Thursday May 27 - Strange happenings in the YA office this week... we took everything apart and painted. We also found a lot of random things that really had no purpose or place in the office. Like this clown shoe.

The week in which I forgot on two occasions

Wednesday May 26 - The first day I forgot. Alas, there shall be no record of this day. I'm sure it was swell though.

Beautiful Summer

Tuesday May 25 - Sunshine and eighty degrees... yep, this is my kind of weather!!

A Burning

Monday May 24 - My brother made this paper castle years ago and he decided to give it a proper ending by burning it in our garden. I thought it looked pretty cool.

Air Mattress, meet River

May 23 - After church, my brother and two other friends and I set out down a river on an air mattress and an inner tube with only two plastic two foot long paddles to guide us along. We accidently flipped the raft in some rapids, went jumping in quicksand, and generally had the most marvelous time.

In which I sleep in a cardboard box

May 22 - My good friend has quite the creativity - for her 16 birthday we built a giant cardboard house in her backyard and spent the night in there. I learned that cardboard is hardly the epitome of comfort, but it was a swell time anyway.

Mayville

May 21 - Two and a half hours in a van with the most awesome teen praise band and drama team to a tiny church in Mayville NY, resulted in Janelle and I looking quite tired and mildly insane. But I guess that's pretty typical of us anyway.

In which my mum gets facebook

May 20 - Today my mum joined the ranks of thousands of other parents who have joined the social networking world. I'm so proud of her.

La De Da

My head is in the clouds... la de da de dum dum la de da dum... I just remodeled my ceiling and put up clouds and a blue sky above my bed. I'm pretty excited about it.

May 18

Today I made paper airplanes, but they kept flying away, so I emptied out my birdcage and put the planes in there. They seem happy enough.

May 17

Today I took down the canopy over my bed and hung up flowers instead. Now my room doesn't remind me of a cave.

Girls of Beauty

May 16 - This is part of the amazing group of girls who lead and participate in the Girls of Beauty Bible study. Today was old fashioned day. We had a hippi, a forties girl, several from the late eighteen hundreds. And then there was me. I came in a toga. Lindsay spoke to the girls and challenged them to go out and make a difference in the world. "You don't have to be a grown up to do great things."

The Things God Can Use...

May 15 - God can use a movie to save lives. He did tonight at Family Life's prerelease showing of the movie "To Save A Life". It is both amazing and humbling to be around when God speaks to people.

May 14

Life grows in the most unexpected of places, like on our barn wall.

May 13

These are our pigs. Their names are Obama, Biden and Patterson. My eleven year old brother named them. Ha, I love that kid.

May 12

Today I got home late because I was babysitting, but I was hungry, so I made alphabet soup. I thought it was defective because it didn't have any "h''s, but my friend pointed out the fact that maybe it was British. So I had British alphabet soup and it was good.

May 11

Here today and gone tomorrow... life is short.

May 10

Today was my last day of classes at Alfred, so, because I had nothing to study for and no reason to go to sleep early, I went and played Risk. For five and a half hours. Until two thirty in the morning. I decided to hand the game over because it was so late and everyone was falling asleep, but I did have the possible potential to win...

Mother's Day 2010

Snow? Really? Really? Winter will never end... I thought Edmund, Lucy, Susan, Peter and Aslan finished the White Witch off...

May 8

Teen Skate!!! Not that anyone skates anymore... everyone just does the Cotton Eye Joe these days...

May 7

So Katie and I went to a meeting for work two hours away, then afterwards we went to Subway (where we got iced tea), saw Iron Man 2, went to Wal Mart, tried to change the oil in her car, and met a friend for ice cream and coffee... needless to say, it was a late night.

May 6

I worked on my mother's day present and in the process realized how often I take her for granted.

Rain Isn't So Bad

May 4 - For it makes the flowers grow and the leaves on the trees turn green, it makes the pavement shine like silver and washes the dust away.

What a Bit of Spring Can Do

May 3 - The dandelions have taken over, filling the lawn and the fields with their beautiful little sunshines. I love dandelions!

The End Of A Good Thing

Today was the last performance of Anne of Green Gables, while I am thoroughly glad I will have a little time to breath again here and there, I'll miss it. What a great cast and crew to work with!

May 1?

May 1st already? Who woulda thunk it?
